I have worked in the travel industry since 1974 and managed my first Travel Agency in 1980. Having worked for both independent agents and the multiples too I was happy to return to the independent sector when I joined Camberley Travel in 2000.
Over the years I have worked at Camberley Travel we have seen many changes and we have successfully navigated our way through the various ups and downs that have impacted on the travel industry.
I have been fortunate to travel widely, having visited Australia, New Zealand, Florida and California and more recently the Seychelles, Dubai, Mauritius, Malaysia, Brazil, South Africa and Sri Lanka to name a few, along with many wonderful places closer to home.
Every destination has its own appeal which is why I find it very difficult to name my favourites. The call of the wild and diversity in South Africa coupled with the outstanding cuisine and wine, sipping Caipirinha on Copacabana Beach listening to Samba all around, catching a Piranha in the Amazon or the excitement of finding a pristine conch shell whilst snorkelling on a luxurious private island in the Seychelles. These experiences are all firmly embedded in my memory. Closer to home Italy is a favourite of mine and I would also thoroughly recommend a trip on one of the scenic trains in Switzerland.
Sri Lanka has had its troubles but FCO advice willing I would strongly recommend it as a wonderful destination to visit. Experience the stunning scenery in the tea country, wildlife and oodles of culture followed by a relaxing stay at the beach. You can have your own private driver to escort you on your own tailor-made itinerary or, if you prefer, you can opt for an escorted tour.
You can travel with like-minded people to all parts of the globe experiencing the culture and authentic experiences wherever you go. You are more likely to find a unique adventure and get off the beaten track whilst benefiting from the local knowledge of an experienced tour guide.
